For a spell in 2011, I was a fan of a webcomic simply titled Bittersweet Candy Bowl. At first, I saw a comic about the quirks and peculiarities of its characters, feline and canine alike. But over time, it gradually turned into this melodramatic mess not unlike the kind of thing you'd see on The CW. Don't get me wrong. At first, it was welcomed. We got to see legitimate drama and pains that led us to better understanding these characters. And in particular, we saw that with Mike and Lucy, the webcomic's testament to the Will They Or Won't They? trope. He's in a long-distance relationship and she's unable to really get her feelings across, coming off as a Helga Pataki-esque tsundere. And then the moment of confession leading to rejection from Mike who grew weary of Lucy's mistreatment.
But after a while...I just stopped caring. It got to the point where the melodrama was battered over my head and I soon stopped caring. And aside from coming across a bizarre BCB/MLP crossover picture, I haven't thought of the webcomic in some time.
Until I found a YouTube video series showing a figurine of Lucy posed in various locations set to [adult swim] bumper-like music. And then I came across the box of the figurine itself, featuring a caricature of the character glaring. For some reason, I decided to recreate the image and the box's slogan in MS Paint. I guess maybe, I just wanted to give the tsundere a moment in pixels.
Or maybe I'm just weird, I dunno.
